LAWRENCEVILLE - Gwinnett's Teacher of the Year has made her county and her school district proud by being selected as one of the best educators in the state.
Mai Yin Tsoi, a chemistry teacher at Collins Hill High School, is one of 11 finalists for Georgia's 2007 Teacher of the Year award. Karin Joann Manis, the Teacher of the Year for Buford City Schools, also was selected as a finalist. She is a first-grade teacher at Buford Elementary School. The statewide winner will be announced this spring. The Georgia Teacher of the Year will take a yearlong sabbatical to speak across the state, conduct staff development activities and participate in educational conferences.More like this story
