Mrs. Ruth Holcomb, age 81, of Dawsonville, formerly of Forsyth County, passed away Friday, January 6, 2006, following an extended illness. She was a longtime member of Concord Baptist Church. She was a devout Christian and loving wife and mother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lenord Holcomb; son, Gene Holcomb; great grandson, Scoty Williams. Survivors include: daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Dennis Allen, Dawsonville, Jeanette and Phillip Allen, Cumming, Darlene and Everett Thompson, Dawsonville; grandchildren: Dean and Jeanne Allen, Denise and Scott Williams, Terri and Billy Wallace, Rhonda and Neil McWhorter, Brittany Thompson; 8 great grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law: Dorothy and J. T. Pratt, Viola Johnson, Hattie Lee and Manco Higgins; brother and sisters-in-law: Garland and Marion Rolader; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Annie and Jim Steel, Inus Holcomb; nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 8, 2006 at 3PM at Concord Baptist Church. Rev. Jimmy Orr, Rev. Rubin Smith and Rev. Dan Armistead will officiate. Interment Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.
