Man arrested after fight

•SNELLVILLE - A Snellville man was arrested Sunday after allegedly getting into a fight with his female friend in the middle of Huddersfield Drive.

The friend was driving with Derrick Lamont Gattison in the car at about 1 p.m. when they got into an argument and Gattison became enraged, according to police report. He allegedly slapped her in the face. She pulled over, honked the horn and got out of the car.

Gattison chased her, threw her to the ground and began choking the woman with both hands, the report said.

A resident on the street witnessed the altercation and called police. Officers found Gattison nearby at his sister's house, where they arrested him on charges of battery and disorderly conduct.

Couple carjacked

•DULUTH - A Norcross couple was carjacked Monday in Saratoga Springs Apartments off Pleasant Lake Village Lane.

The husband told police a man approached the driver's side of their 2001 blue Ford Explorer at about 10 a.m. as they were driving in the complex parking lot. The suspect ordered the couple to get out and lie on the ground.

The husband and wife complied, and the thief fled in the Explorer. The suspect is described as a black man, 5 feet 9 inches tall and 160 pounds, wearing black pants and a black coat.

Store employee charged with theft

•BUFORD - An Auburn man was arrested New Year's Day and accused of pocketing thousands of dollars while employed as a cashier at Target at 3205 Woodward Crossing Boulevard.

A loss prevention officer for the store began watching Brandon Michael Pozesny, 18, on video surveillance because his cash drawer was coming up short. On Sunday, the loss prevention officer saw Pozesny take $200 from the cash drawer and put it in his pocket, according to a police report.

Pozesny provided a written statement admitting he stole $4,250 between Dec. 27 and New Year's Day. He was charged with one count of theft by taking.

Man's car, wallet, phone stolen

•NORCROSS - A Lawrenceville man was carjacked at gunpoint Tuesday at Las Colinas apartments on Lia Hills Drive in Norcross.

The victim told police he pulled up in front of the 2700 building at 10:10 a.m. to wait for a friend. When he stepped out of the car, the victim was rushed by three unidentified Hispanic men wielding a gun and a knife, according to a police report.

The suspects allegedly took the driver's wallet and cell phone, climbed into his red 1994 Ford Mustang and fled the scene.
