LAWRENCEVILLE - Tennis starlet Anna Kournikova and Wimbledon legend John McEnroe will take center court at the Arena at Gwinnett Center.
Tickets are expected to go on sale in early March. The two tennis celebrities will play in the Mercedes-Benz Gwinnett Classic, along with former world No. 1 Jim Courier and doubles champion Jana Novotna. The exhibition tournament is scheduled May 6. It's the first time the Arena has hosted a tennis event. "Atlanta is a hotbed for tennis," Arena Marketing Director Chris Hendley said. "One reason we wanted this tournament is that it had several big names that we thought everyone would be interested in." The Mercedes-Benz Gwinnett Classic will work with VolleyFest, a charity that supports cancer research.More like this story
