Dobbs - Barnett

Christie Hope Dobbs of Lawrenceville and Thomas Lee Barnett of Snellville were married Sept. 25 at the Hardeman-Sams House in Athens, with a reception following.

Christine Shea of Atlanta served as the bride's matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Amanda Buckingham of Bethlehem and Natalie Walden of Winder. Jade Barnett, daughter of the groom, served as flower girl.

Chris Barnett of Bethlehem served as the groom's best man. Groomsmen were Dustin Williams of Lawrenceville and Lee Castillo of Atlanta.

After a honeymoon in Costa Rica, the couple resides in Monroe.

Matheson - McGill

Margaret Elizabeth Matheson and Maxey Lee McGill were married Nov. 5 at Chateau Elan in Braselton. The Rev. Jay McSwain, cousin of the bride, officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Christopher Matheson of Sylvania. She is the grandduaghter of Mr. and Mrs. Roderick McLeod Clifton Sr. of Lyons and Maxine Tucker Matheson of Lyons and the late Julius Daniel Matheson. She graduated from the University of Georgia in 2000 with a bachelor's degree in education and in 2002 with a master's degree in early childhood education. She is employed as a teacher at Mount Vernon Elementary School in Gainesville.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Curtis McGill of Snellville. He is the grandson of E.L. Rainey of Stone Mountain and the late Genevieve Hartness Rainey and Elizabeth Bevill McGill of Lincolnton and the late Eugene Hall McGill Sr. He is a 2003 graduate of the University of Georgia, where he received a bachelor's degree in environmental soil science. He is employed as a soil scientist with KW Soils LLC in Alto.

Sister of the bride, Christy Lynn Matheson Myhand of Covington, served as her matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Jennifer McGill Postrel of Miami, sister of the groom; Natalie Matheson Parker of Reidsville, cousin of the bride; Candice Clifton Sears of Newnan, cousin of the bride; and Kelly Suzanne Baskin of Atlanta, sister-in-law to be of the bride and groom. Flower girl was Chanel Margaux Postrel, niece of the groom.

Father of the groom, James Curtis McGill Sr., and brother of the groom, James Curtis McGill Jr., both of Snellville, served as best men.

Groomsmen were Brian Nathan Jarvis of Grayson, Davis Randall Kendrick of Dallas, and Stuart Anthony Johnson of Alpharetta, friends of the groom. Junior ushers were Jordan Monroe Postrel and Matthew Addison Postrel, both of Miami, nephews of the groom.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the Debussy Room at Chateau Elan. The newlyweds spent a weekend at the Albermarle Inn in Asheville, N.C. After a honeymoon in St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Gainesville.
