LAWRENCEVILLE - Police have identified the man who died Sunday after being struck by several vehicles in front of the Saddle Brook Apartments on Singleton Road as 29-year-old Baltazar Ledesma of Norcross.
Ledesma was identified after his fingerprints were matched to a criminal database from a prior arrest in March 2004 for shoplifting. The process of identifying the victim was delayed because he provided a false name to Gwinnett County deputies at the time of his arrest, said Cpl. Darren Moloney, spokesman for the Gwinnett County Police Department. While a driver stopped to call 911 after hitting Ledesma, investigators do not believe that driver was the first to hit the man. There are no charges pending against the motorist that called 911. Police are asking anyone with information on the accident to call the 24-hour confidential Accident Investigation Unit hotline at 770-513-5048.More like this story
