Wallace Raymond Clamp, age 71 of Bethlehem, GA, passed away February 15, 2006. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, February 17, 2006 at Bethlehem First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Parker Benson officiating. Mr. Clamp was born in Edgefield, SC. He was a graduate of Snellville High School, Class of 1953 and star baseball pitcher at Snellville High School. He was approached by the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team but chose to courageously defend our country by joining the US Air Force. He dutifully and faithfully served our country for 20 years, serving combat duty in Vietnam in 1965-1966 and 1968-1969. He was a member of Bethlehem First United Methodist Church and a member of the Wesley Sunday School Class. He was preceded in death by his father, George C. Clamp, Sr. Survivors include: Mother, Pauline Salyer of Conyers; Spouse, Joyce Simonton Clamp of Bethlehem; Children: Christopher R. Clamp of Auburn, GA, Angie M. Cooper of Dacula, GA, Jimmy Hill of Marietta, GA, Donna Chapman of Auburn, GA, Sandra Kyger of Harrisonburg, VA; 6 Grandchildren, Daniel, Leah, Grant, Natalie, Chance & Trace; Brothers, George C. Clamp of Snellville, GA, D.L. Poteat of Reidsville, GA; Sisters, Norma Darby of Stockbridge, GA, Peggy Bates of Conyers, GA, Juanita Worthy of Conyers, GA; Several Nieces and Nephews.
