ATLANTA - Local visitors bureaus are getting to be a popular idea in the General Assembly.
The House overwhelmingly approved legislation Monday creating a visitors bureau authority for the city of Braselton. The authority's mission would be to promote tourism, conventions and trade shows in the community. It would operate out of an office in Braselton. Similar bills have been introduced in the House to create visitors bureaus in Buford and Suwanee. However, neither of those has made it the floor of the lower chamber. The Braselton bill, which passed with only one "no'' vote, now goes to the Senate.More like this story
