DULUTH - The new president of Georgia Gwinnett College will be the guest of honor at a meeting of the Button Gwinnett Society.
Dan Kaufman will speak on the topic of macroeconomic forces at work in the international environment. His speech is titled "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet."
"I have a pitch on my view of the international system and the challenges that it confronts," Kaufman said.
His speech will focus primarily on the issues of population and socioeconomic factors worldwide. Kaufman is well-versed in the topic, having co-edited and co-authored six books on international relations and national security policy and strategy.
Kaufman also has a doctorate in political science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a master's degree in public administration from Harvard.
The Button Gwinnett Society is a group dedicated to the discussion of culture, the arts and other topics of general interest. Dues are $100 annually. Membership is open to anyone in the community.
The quarterly meeting will be held Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the 1818 Club in Duluth.
