Edgar Love Kimbrough III, born October 6, 1950, died Wednesday, February 1, 2006, surrounded by his beloved wife and defender, Gayle Anne, and his sons, Ben, Matthew and E. Love who were his pride and joy, following a courageous 7 month battle against cancer. Love served 2 years in the U.S. Army as a 2nd Lieutenant and recently retired following a distinguished career with Gwinnett County School System. Rev. Ira B. Faglier, age 86 of Buford, GA, died on Wednesday, February 1, 2006 after an extended illness. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, February 4, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church, Buford where his body will lie in state beginning at 10:00 A.M. Rev. Charles W. Gilliland will officiate. Interment will follow in Broadlawn Memorial Gardens, Buford. The Family will receive friends on Friday, February 3, 2006 from 1-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Rev. Faglier was a native of Jefferson County, GA and had lived in Buford the past 43 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of W.W.II were he served as a Chaplain Assistant. During his many years of ministry, Rev. Faglier served as Pastor to churches in Nashville, GA, Ashburn, GA, Dearing, GA, Leslie, GA and Americus, GA and while earning his Degree at Mercer University he was Pastor to two churches in Macon, GA. Rev. Faglier retired from full time ministry after 21 years at First Baptist Church, Buford where he had served from 1963 to 1984. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Buford, GA where he served as Pastor Emeritus. His many years of ministry to First Baptist Church and the community of Buford, where he was fondly known as "Preacher Faglier", will always be remembered. Mr. Thompson, a native of Gwinnett County, GA, was a retired assembly stockman with General Motors in Doraville and a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School superintendent and teacher. He was preceded in death by son: Carl A. Thompson Sr. and sister: Emma Louise Hansard. Mr. Joseph "Joe" Hanson, age 74, of Young Harris, GA, formerly of Lawrenceville, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2006, in Union General Hospital. Mr. Hanson was born Wednesday, January 20, 1932 in Gwinnett County, GA to the late Leonard Hanson and Eula Whiting Hanson. He was a member of Notla Baptist Church, and was a Baptist Deacon Mr. Hanson was a U.S. Army Veteran, and served during the Korean War. He was a member of The American Legion, and a lifetime member of the VFW and a member of the North Geogia Honor Guard. Survivors include: wife, Helen Hanson of Young Harris; daughter, Zanza Hunter of Avondale Estates, GA; sister, Annette Roberts of Lula, GA; sisters, Lorene Clark and Lois Phillips both of Flowery Branch, GA; step-daughter, Cynthia Robertson of Lawrenceville, GA; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 4, 2006 at 11.00 from the Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. James Paul officiating. Interment will follow in Union Memory Gardens with military honors conducted by the North Georgia Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m., Friday.
