BUFORD - A 42-year-old man was arrested Sunday and accused of allegedly stalking an ex-girlfriend and harassing several of her friends.

The victim, a 45-year-old Buford woman, told police she dated Joseph Dale Ney briefly last summer. On Friday, Ney learned the woman had an out-of-town guest staying at her house on North Lee Street. He allegedly broke through a screen door and got into a fight with the guest.

Ney continued to call and drive by the victim's house repeatedly over the weekend, according to a police report. On Sunday, the victim was having dinner with a man when Ney again burst into her house uninvited to confront the man, the police report said.

Upon questioning by police, Ney claimed he was "cordial" to both the men and denied making any threats toward the victim. He is charged with terroristic threats and acts, stalking and harassing phone calls.
