LEBKUECHER,

CATHERINE

Catherine Anderson Lebkuecher, died Friday, December 22, 2006, from complications arising after a 13 year battle with multiple myeloma. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Andrew, daughters Jeanmarie and Heidi and son Drew. Cathy leaves one grandchild, Ethan. Cathy dedicated the last 10 years of her life to educating myeloma patients on survival. Her ability to learn quickly and challenge her doctors allowed her to "beat the odds" and laugh in the face of her initial prognosis. Always an advocate of "education is your most powerful tool in this fight", Cathy brought strength to countless patients in their fight against this aggressive and debilitating form of cancer. She and her husband, Andy, formed the Atlanta Area Multiple Myeloma Support Group (AAMMSG) where Cathy used her talent as a speaker and knowledge of her disease to spread information on treatment options and the like. She was constantly broadening her knowledge by attending numerous educational seminars receiving awards for her involvement. Cathy was an angel to many and it was clear that her "chess match" with myeloma was not to slow her down as god had a plan for her. She enhanced every life she touched and will be missed by all who knew her. The world has lost a uniquely gifted and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Cathy also leaves sisters Jane, Judith, and Margaret and brothers Johnny, Peter, and Michael. Funeral Services will be held at Holy Cross Anglican Church in Loganville, GA at 1 P.M. on Wednesday, December 27. The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 1:00p.m. at Holy Cross Anglican Church , where Cathy and Andy are founding members. In lieu of flowers, Cathy has requested that donations be made to the AAMMSG and the International Myeloma Foundation. Wages & Sons Gwinnett Chapel, 770-277-4550.
