Scouts send candy
LAWRENCEVILLE - Local Scouts participated in the "Give an Airman a Cavity" program. The program provided members of the United States Air Force with candy, cards, letters and pictures from 16 Cub Scout units and three Boy Scout units from Gwinnett. The boys provided candy to 11 Air Force installations and one hospital. Toys bought for children's shelter LAWRENCEVILLE - About 60 Bowen Family Homes employees and friends visited a local Toys 'R' Us to shop for 15 children from the Gwinnett Children's Shelter. The Gwinnett Children's Shelter is a private, nonprofit agency that strives to provide children and youth in crisis a positive environment for change and growth through shelter and community outreach services. Founded in 1987, the Shelter serves 300 to 500 children and their families each year. To learn more, to volunteer or to donate, visit www.gwinnettchildrenshelter.org. Auditions to be held WINDER - Winder-Barrow Community Theatre will hold auditions for "Blithe Spirit." Auditions will be held at 7 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. Saturday at the Barrow County Leisure Services Center at 175 Second St. in Winder. The cast requires five women and two men.
