Christmas gifts stolen from teen

•NORCROSS - A Norcross woman told police Friday someone kicked in her front door and stole Christmas gifts she planned to give her teenage son.

An Xbox 360, a pair of Air Jordan shoes and an $80 pair of shorts were missing from her closet when she arrived home.

According to a police report, the woman told police her son had shown the gifts to his friends.

The responding officer believes the teens may have been involved in taking the items.

Man accused

of robbing QT

•NORCROSS - A man was arrested Sunday after police say he tried to rob a QuikTrip gas station.

According to a police report, Freddie McBurney, 44, entered the store and requested three different transactions then asked for his money back.

When the register was open, McBurney allegedly reached across the counter into the drawer and tried to grab a handful of $20 bills.

The clerk told police the man took $20 and tried to flee the store but was tackled by a customer standing nearby.

The man was able to detain McBurney until police arrived and arrested him.

Robber uses pepper spray

on manager

•LAWRENCEVILLE - A manager of a Pizza Hut told police she was robbed by an armed man Sunday.

According to a police report, the woman was locking the door to the Pizza Hut located at 950 Herrington Road when a short black man approached her and demanded money - $6,000 she was carrying from the previous night's sales.

The man fled on foot after taking the money and spraying the victim in the eyes with pepper spray.

The woman was transported to the Gwinnett Medical Center and treated for her injuries. She was later released.
