Gwinnett Daily Post
Seven Gwinnett seniors have been selected to the North roster for next week's Georgia Athletic Coaches Association North-South All-Star Football Game.
The local choices include two Collins Hill linemen, T.J. Greenstone and T.J. Hurless. Dacula running back Cole Brodie, Brookwood linebacker Rennie Curran, Peachtree Ridge defensive back Phillip Davis, Buford linebacker Trey Hunsucker and Central Gwinnett linebacker Jonathan Massaquoi also made the roster.
The game is scheduled for Dec. 29 at 2 p.m. at Columbus' Memorial Stadium. Woodstock head coach Mike O'Brien is the North head coach, but no Gwinnett coaches are on his staff.
Hurless anchored the Collins Hill offensive line while Greenstone was a force on the defensive front with 76 tackles and a team-high 12 sacks.
The North linebacking corps will feature three Gwinnett grads, including Curran, who had 150 tackles in 12 games as a senior. Hunsucker made 91 tackles for Buford and Massaquoi had 66 tackles and six sacks.
Davis, who had two interceptions in this past Saturday's state championship game and seven on the season, also is on the North defense.
Brodie joins Hurless as the only two locals on the North offense.
Despite being injury plagued as a senior, the Dacula back rushed for 849 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2006.
