Mrs. Shirley Munday Armstead, age 71, of Sugar Hill, GA, passed away on December 15, 2006. She was preceded in death by her husband, L. C. Armstead, son, Leonard C. Armstead, and daughter, Sherry Armstead. Surviving are: Son and Daughter-in-Law: Rev. Russell W. and Kimberley Armstead, Mayfield, KY; Nieces: Mrs. Stacey and Gary Rutledge, Loganville, GA, Melissa Martin, Sugar Hill, GA; Great Nieces: Randi and Jamie Rutledge, Loganville, GA; Several cousins. Mrs. Armstead was born on December 11, 1935 in Gwinnett County, GA and had lived on Whitehead Road in Sugar Hill since 1957. She retired after 25 years of service as a Para Professional Teacher from Sugar Hill Elementary School. She was known at the school as “Mrs. A”. She was a member of the Buford Church of God. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Edward Davenport officiating. Interment in Sugar Hill Cemetery, Sugar Hill, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Arrangements by Junior E.
