BUFORD - Anyone moving to Buford should find plenty of housing. City Commissioners voted Monday to annex about 140 acres that included four proposed subdivisions in Hall County.
An 83-home gated community with prices starting in the $400,000s will be built on about 43 acres in the Holiday Road area of Lake Lanier in Hall County. The 2,600- to 2,800-square-foot, four-sides-brick or stone homes will stand at a density of 1.92 per acre.
In the same project, three commercial buildings totaling 30,000 square feet will also be erected on 3.94 acres on Holiday Road. Buford's Planning and Zoning board recommended approval of the project and Hall County's 2004 Land-Use Plan identifies the area as mixed use.
An 89-home community will rise on 36.38 acres at the intersection of U.S. Highway 23 and Mount Salem Church Road in Hall County. Plans show four-sides-brick or stucco homes with 1,800 to 2,000 square feet of living space at a density of 2.56 homes per acre. A 7.27-acre tract at the southern end of the property will be donated to the city of Buford for greenspace preservation. A commercial center will front the property on 1.56 acres. Buford's Planning and Zoning board recommended approval of the project and Hall County's 2004 Land-Use Plan shows the area as residential.
77 homes on 32 acres
Commissioners voted to annex and rezone about 32 acres on Carter Road in Hall County from agricultural to residential zoning. The move clears the way for a 77-home development of 2,000- to 2,400-square-foot single family homes.
Developers propose building four minimum 1,600 square foot homes on three acres on Lee Drive in Hall County. Buford's Planning and Zoning board recommended approval of the project and Hall County's 2004 Land Use Plan shows the area as residential.

•3971 Hamilton Mill Road in Gwinnett County.
•115 Holiday Road in Hall County.
•111 Holiday Road in Hall County.
