Johnson - Gower

Lauren Merritt Johnson and Richard William Gower were married on Aug. 19 at the Day Chapel in the State Botanical Gardens in Athens. Dr. Timothy Hudson officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Alton Johnson of Warrenton. She is employed by Zaxby's Franchising Inc.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Gormley of Suwanee and Richard L. Gower of Dixon, Mo. He is employed by Zaxby's Franchising Inc.

Rebecca Elizabeth Johnson of Athens served as the bride's maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Tiffany Anne Gower of Suwanee, Paula Louise Chesser of Macon, Tanner Marie Hoyt of Athens, and Kasie Jackson O'Neal of Crawford.

Christopher Todd Gower of Suwanee served as the groom's best man. Groomsmen were Tyler James Johnson of Milledgeville, Kevin Coheleach of Atlanta, Derek Alan Geldhauser of Atlanta and Jason Michael Piccolo of Atlanta.

After a honeymoon in Jamaica, the couple now resides in Athens.

Quammen - McGuire

Jennifer Leigh Quammen and Joshua Austin McGuire were married on June 24 at Vanderbilt University's Benton Chapel in Nashville, Tenn. The Rev. Bill Schilling officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Rolf and Dolores Quammen of Duluth. She is a graduate of Shorter College, where she received a bachelor's degree in music in piano performance. She is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati, where she received a double master's degree in piano performance and voice accompanying. She is employed by Georgia College and State University as a staff accompanist.

The groom is the son of Johnny and Toni McGuire of Paducah, Ky. He is a graduate of Vanderbilt University, where he received a bachelor's degree in music in classical guitar with high honors in English. He is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati, where he received a master's degree in music in guitar performance. He is employed as a choir director at Baldwin High School and as an adjunct guitar professor at Georgia College and State University.

Erin Jackson of Duluth served as the bride's maid of honor.

Bryan Garner of Nashville, Tenn. served as the groom's best man.

After a honeymoon in California, the couple now resides in Milledgeville.
