Developer got off easy for long-promised nature center

The article about the Mill Creek Nature Center ("Natural Wonder: Center still not open years after promise," Page 1A, Aug. 27) was timely. A few days ago I was discussing this very thing with a group of co-workers. We wondered how the developers got away with this. They sure got the mall open on time.

One thinks there should have been an agreement stating that the mall doesn't open until the nature center is finished. You can rest assured it would have been done as promised if that were the case.

Both Gwinnett and Barrow County schools topped the statewide average of 1,477 points - Gwinnett by its widest margin yet, and Barrow for the first time in four years. Students in the Buford City Schools were eight points below the state average.
