Pedelty - Wilkens
Laura Elizabeth Pedelty and Garon James Wilkens were married on June 17 at the Church of Christ in Snellville. Harold Savage officiated the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Steven and Patricia Pedelty of Grayson. She is a magna cum laude graduate of Valdosta State University, where she received a bachelor's degree in accounting. She is employed by a local accounting firm as an auditor. The groom is the son of Gary and Sharon Wilkens of Lawrenceville. He is a graduate of Valdosta State University. He received his bachelor's degree in exercise science. He is employed by a local athletic facility as a fitness director. Susan Pedelty Jones of Alpharetta served as the bride's matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Kate Lucas, Elizabeth Baker, Stephanie Bragg, Jennifer Johnston and Calley Wright. Mathis Lee Wilkens of Lawrenceville served as the groom's best man. Groomsmen were Matt Pedelty, J.R. Jones, Matthew Sullivan, Blake Graham, Cason Schenfish and Bart Edgar. The couple honeymooned at Our Lucaya Beach Resort in Freeport, Bahamas and now reside in Roswell. 50th anniversary James and Martha Howell of Lawrenceville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with brothers, sisters and friends at the Cornerstone Baptist Church on Saturday. They were married Aug. 26, 1956, at New Bethel Baptist Church in Carnesville. They spent their honeymoon 50 years ago in Gatlinburg, Tenn. Their celebration was hosted by their children, Brian Howell and wife Vicki, Barry Howell, and Bonnie Mosley and husband Kenny. They have three grandchildren, Heather and Brianna Howell, and Katie Mosley, and one step grandson, Steven Dinkle.More like this story
