The victim told police he met a girl at the billiards hall and offered to give her a ride home in his blue 1999 Dodge Ram truck. When he stopped at the intersection of Jimmy Carter Boulevard and Peachtree Industrial Boulevard, a blue minivan pulled alongside the truck, according to a police report.
Five men exited the van and attacked the victim, taking his wallet and the van. The victim walked to a nearby gas station to call police. He suffered a laceration to his face, but was not hospitalized.
Norcross Waffle House robbed
•NORCROSS - An armed man on Tuesday robbed Waffle House at 4151 Jimmy Carter Boulevard, fleeing with an undisclosed amount of money.
The suspect entered the restaurant at 3 a.m., pointed a gun at three employees and demanded they open the cash register. After he cleaned out the register, the robber turned his attention to the safe. However, employees told him they could not open it.
The suspect fired a single gunshot at the lock on the safe in an attempt to access it, but he missed the target, a police report stated. He ran away toward Jimmy Carter Boulevard. The suspect is described as a black man about 20 years old, 5 feet 7 inches tall and 150 pounds with dreadlocks. He was reportedly wearing a dark-colored hooded shirt, black pants and a black mask.
