Thieves attack family at home

•LAWRENCEVILLE - A trio of thieves apparently lay in wait for a family to return home from closing a restaurant business on Tuesday and then tried to rob them.

A 25-year-old Lawrenceville man arrived home with his aunt and his mother at 1:15 a.m. shortly after closing Tu Casa Food at the intersection of Beaver Ruin and Indian Trail roads. When they got to the front door, three unidentified men came up and grabbed the aunt's purse, according to a police report.

In an ensuing struggle, the aunt's arm was scratched and the 25-year-old nephew was punched in the face. Other family members inside the house woke upon hearing the noise and came outside, scaring away the suspects.

The three men left in a dark-colored sport utility vehicle such as a Chevrolet

S-10 Blazer or GMC Jimmy, the police report stated.
