Sellers - Adkison

Dr. and Mrs. John G. Sellers Jr. of Fairfax, Va. announce the engagement of their daughter, Amy Diane Sellers of Dunwoody, to Todd Nolan Adkison of Dunwoody, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lou Adkison Jr. of Lawrenceville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. John G. Sellers Sr. of Norfolk, Va. and Myrtle Cross of Portsmouth, Va. She is a graduate of James Madison University. She is employed by the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Buckhead as a convention service manager.

The future groom is the grandson of Col. and Mrs. Thomas E. Page of Tarboro, N.C. and Mr. and Mrs. Adkison of Suwanee. He is a graduate of Auburn University. He is employed by Intellinet as a systems analyst.

The wedding is planned for Sept. 2 at Peachtree Presbyterian Church in Atlanta.

Lord - Cochran

Ronnie and Robin Lord of Buford announce the engagement of their daughter, Jessica Robin Lord of Buford, to Benjamin Heard Cochran of Alpharetta, son of Ed and Becky Cochran of Alpharetta.

The bride-elect is a 2002 graduate of Buford High School. She is a 2005 graduate of North Georgia College and State University, where she received an associate's degree in nursing. She is employed by Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville in the oncology unit as a registered nurse.

The future groom is a 1998 graduate of Buford High School. He is a 2003 graduate of North Georgia College and State University, where he received a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. He completed his post graduate education at New Orlean's Baptist Theological Seminary School. He is employed by Prudential Georgia Realty as a realtor.

The wedding is planned for Aug. 26 at Big Canoe Chapel in Jasper.

Smith - Layng

Mr. and Mrs. Craig Smith of Rome announce the engagement of their daughter, Lauren Stephanie Smith of Rome, to John Courtlandt Layng II of Cartersville, son of Judge and Mrs. Mark Layng of Snellville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Lindsey and the late Mr. and Mrs. Baltimore Smith, all of Rome. She is a graduate of the University of West Georgia, where she received a bachelor's degree in early childhood education. She is employed by Clear Creek Elementary School in Bartow County as a second-grade teacher.

The future groom is the grandson of Judge and Mrs. John C. Layng, the late Bill Bartel and Joan Rafferty, all of Rockford, Ill. He is a graduate of the University of West Georgia, where he received a bachelor's degree in sports management. He is employed by the Rome Braves Professional Baseball Club.

The wedding is planned for Nov. 18 in Rome.

Ransom - Howard

Terry and Bobbie Ransom of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter, Tabitha Lynn Ransom of Gainesville, to Derek Adam Howard of Gainesville, son of Pamelah Howard of Jefferson and Kenny and Sheryl Howard of Gainesville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the Rev. James and Wynelle Ransom of Gainesville and Dessie Boggs and the late Billy Boggs of Hoschton. She is a 2001 graduate of North Hall High School and a 2005 graduate of North Georgia College and State University, where she received a bachelor's degree in business administration. She is employed by Regions Bank in Oakwood as an assistant branch manager and as the Murrayville Baptist Church pianist.

The groom is the grandson of Kenneth and Lavada Dorsey, Dick and Verona Buchalter and the late Cecil Howard, all of Cleveland. He is a 2000 graduate of North Hall High School and a 2004 graduate of North Georgia College and State University, where he received a bachelor's degree in business administration. He is employed by Turbo Logistics in Gainesville as a sales representative.

The wedding is planned for Sept. 2 at the First Baptist Church in Gainesville.

Brown - Davis

Doug and Andrea Brown of Stone Mountain announce the engagement of their daughter, Christina Marie Brown of Snellville, to Christopher Randall Davis of Snellville, son of Randy and Lisa Davis of Lilburn.

The bride-elect is a 2002 graduate of Parkview High School. She is employed by Bi-County Gwinnett Pediatrics in Lilburn as a medical receptionist.

The future groom is a 2000 graduate of Parkview High School. He is employed by Productive Electronics LLC in Norcross as a general manager. He is also the owner of Spymart.com.
