Man charged with kidnapping
LAWRENCEVILLE - A 32-year-old Lawrenceville woman claimed she was kidnapped after a night of passion Thursday at a house on Haven Oak Way.
The woman told police she had sex with 38-year-old Kevin McNeal of Lawrenceville, and he took a nude picture of her with a cell phone camera. When she tried to get the picture back, McNeal allegedly refused and took her car keys and cell phone.
The woman ran to a neighbor's house, but McNeal followed her. He picked her up and carried her back to the house against her will, the police report stated. The victim got free, ran to the neighbor's home and called police.
McNeal said he took the victim back to his house because he didn't want to make a scene. He was charged with kidnapping.
Officers seize marijuana plants
LAWRENCEVILLE - Police seized two marijuana plants Monday from the balcony of an apartment at Cameron Greens at 3400 Sweetwater Road.
An officer in the area on an unrelated call noticed plants that appeared to be marijuana growing on the balcony of a ground-level apartment and performed a field test, which was positive for marijuana, the police report said.
The officer spoke with a 16-year-old resident, who said the plants were bought at Home Depot. Later in the conversation, the boy said the plants were gifts from his uncle, the police report said.
The leaseholder was not home, so officers seized the plants and planned to return later for further investigation.
