Facilities Relocation

Separate sealed Bids for the relocation of a 4-inch steel high-pressure natural gas main, a 2-inch steel low-pressure natural gas main, and other related gas facilities located along Gravel Springs Road (S.R. 324) will be received by the City of Buford at City Hall located at 2300 Buford Highway, Buford, Georgia, until 10:00 A.M. local time, August 15, 2006 , and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud.

The project generally includes the installation of approximately 5,900 linear feet of 6-inch steel natural gas main, 3,900 linear feet of 4-inch steel natural gas main, 10,700 linear feet of 2-inch steel natural gas main, 80 linear feet of 6-inch polyethylene natural gas main, 460 linear feet of 4-inch polyethylene natural gas main, 700 linear feet of 2-inch polyethylene natural gas main, natural gas services, line valves and other appurtenances. Proposals will also include an Alternate Bid for replacing the existing 2-inch steel low-pressure gas main with 6-inch polyethylene natural gas main.

Most of the new facilities will replace existing facilities that are in conflict with a Gwinnett County Road Improvement Program project. The location of the Work is south of the City, of Buford, along S.R. 324 from Buford Highway (S.R. 20) to south of Ivy Creek Road.

No proposal will be considered unless it is accompanied by satisfactory evidence that the Bidder holds Georgia State Contractor's License of proper classification and in full force and effect, in compliance with Act. O.C.G.A. 43-14. Contractor must be a qualified natural gas contractor under the laws of the State of Georgia and must comply with any Federal, State, and City guidelines and regulations.

Work to Be Done: The work to be performed by the General Contractor consists of but not limited to the installation of various footages of twelve (12), eight (8), six (6), four (4) two (2) inch steel gas main and six (6) four (4) and two (2) inch polyethylene gas main. The General Contractor will also install all associated valves, tie ins, hot taps, bypasses, farm taps and services as needed. They will also need to perform various sized bores an erosion control methods according to D.O.T. standards.
