LAWRENCEVILLE - A group will distribute free gun locks and promote gun safety at a three-day event beginning Friday.
Project ChildSafe has allotted about 3,000 gun locks for the event, which will be held at the Bass Pro Shop at 5900 Sugarloaf Parkway from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.
Mary Haynes, a spokeswoman for the group, said Project ChildSafe and the Atlanta Police Department will have safety pledges for children, brochures and bookmarks about gun safety.
