WINDER - Police have identified the man who was gunned down in a Mexican bar in Winder over the weekend as Servando Duron Nieto.
Nieto, whose age and city of residence were unknown, was shot seven times in the chest at El Manantial Restaurant on Friday night. A Hispanic woman who was also shot in the head was listed in stable condition early Monday at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, said Lt. Lamar Reynolds of the Winder Police Department.
Investigators are withholding information about the woman's identity for her safety because the shooter is still on the lam, Reynolds said.
Police are unsure what sparked the fight, but they believe the suspect and Nieto knew each other.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic man in his late teens or early 20s who left the scene in a dark, four-door import - possibly a Honda, Hooper said. Winder police ask anyone with information to call 770-867-2156.
