LAWRENCEVILLE - One person was killed and another injured in a single-vehicle accident Saturday afternoon.
Gwinnett County Fire Department spokesman Thomas Rutledge said the incident took place at 5:17 p.m. at U.S. Highway 29 and Sweetgum Road when a car went over an embankment. The injured person was taken to the Gwinnett Medical Center. Gwinnett police are investigating the incident, Rutledge said, but officers did not return several pages seeking comment.
