Manc charged with kicking puppy

LAWRENCEVILLE - A 23-year-old Lawrenceville man was arrested last Friday after allegedly kicking and punching a young pit bull puppy.

Police responded at 10 a.m. to a residence on Patterson Court after a neighbor reportedly witnessed Larry Darnell Foster beating the dog. At one point, Foster kicked the pup so hard that it flew through the air the distance of three parking spaces, according to police reports. An officer noted the dog had difficulty walking, had significant swelling to its rib cage and it yelped when touched.

Foster claimed he did not harm the dog, stating it was injured when he dropped it because it bit him when he picked it up. However, there was no bite mark on his hand, police reports stated.

Foster was arrested on charges of animal cruelty and possession of a small amount of marijuana.

Woman charged with disorderly conduct

DULUTH - A Suwanee woman was arrested Sunday after sneaking backstage at Wild Bill's entertainment hall and refusing to leave, according to police reports.

Roberta Lee Garland, 44, was asked to exit the area because only employees are allowed backstage at the venue on 2075 Market St. She insisted she "wasn't ready to leave," prompting police to intervene.

Garland reportedly began struggling with officers who led her onto the stage and lowered her down to the floor. She continued to be combative as they tried to escort her outside, so police tackled her and handcuffed her on the dance floor, police reports stated.

Garland was charged with disorderly conduct.

Man accused of taking knives to mall

BUFORD - A Sugar Hill man was jailed last week for allegedly carrying two large kitchen knives around the Mall of Georgia in his pants pockets.

Andrew Lasale Jordan, 19, was arguing Sept. 9 with another man near the food court entrance when police confronted him. Jordan allegedly causes problems with patrons almost every weekend, and had previously been banned from the mall, according to police reports.

A concerned citizen told an officer Jordan may be carrying large knives in his pockets, so police conducted a pat down of his clothing. They found two kitchen knives with 12-inch, serrated blades. Jordan was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and disorderly conduct.
