Waffle House robbed

STONE MOUNTAIN - An unidentified black man robbed the Waffle House on Sunday at 1945 Rockbridge Road.

The suspect approached a waitress outside the restaurant and coerced her back inside by placing his hand inside his pocket and pointing what looked like a gun at her, according to police reports.

The man then pulled his black shirt over his face and confronted another waitress at the register, displaying a revolver and demanding she open the register, reports said.

He grabbed a handful of cash and fled on foot toward the Chevron gas station across the street, reports said. The suspect is described as a dark-skinned black man with no facial hair and four to six removable gold bottom teeth.

Two men rob Viajes Latinos

NORCROSS - Two Hispanic men on Monday robbed the Viajes Latinos store at 4782 Jimmy Carter Blvd.

The manager told police two men entered the store at about 3 p.m. and one walked up to her desk to reveal a handgun underneath his shirt. The suspect pulled the gun out of his waistband, pointed it to the ground and chambered a round, according to police reports.

He stole money from the manager's cash drawer while the second suspect pilfered other drawers behind her. The men demanded the surveillance tape before running away in an unknown direction. The manager was unable to provide police with a detailed description of the robbers, police reports said.

Homeless men stabbed

NORCROSS - Two homeless men were attacked and stabbed Tuesday in a wooded area where they were living behind a Taco Bell restaurant at the intersection of Jimmy Carter and Peachtree Industrial boulevards.

The victims were sitting on the curb of a nearby motel when police arrived to investigate. Lester Pettway, 50, had minor lacerations on his chest, hand and arm. John Michael Grogan, 47, had a stab wound to his leg.

The two said they were talking and laying down in the woods at about 1 a.m. when an unknown person with a large knife attacked them without provocation. They could not tell whether the assailant was man or woman, or the person's race, and they both appeared intoxicated, the officer said.

The victims were taken to Gwinnett Medical Center for treatment.
