Woman accused in stabbing
BUFORD - A Buford woman is accused of stabbing another woman in the arm at a house on New Street. Christine Diane Johnson, 51, allegedly assaulted another woman and stabbed her in the left arm, causing several lacerations. The motive for the alleged attack was unclear from the arrest warrant. Johnson was charged with one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Man charged with disorderly conduct NORCROSS - A Norcross man was arrested last week for allegedly passing out drunk and only partially clothed in the woods near an apartment complex pool. An officer found 32-year-old Pedro Cruz in a wooded area of Huntington Ridge Apartments. He was lying on his side asleep with his pants down around his ankles, according to police reports. After several attempts to rouse Cruz, he awoke, stood and then fell back to the ground. The officer noted a strong smell of beer on his breath. He was jailed on a charge of disorderly conduct. Monk assaulted NORCROSS - A monk at the Lam Te Temple at 6191 Meadowbrook Drive was assaulted Friday by a tenant who was wielding a kitchen knife, according to police reports. The monk told police Hoang Diem Nguyen, 35, became enraged for some reason and started mumbling and yelling. She picked up a knife and began pointing it at him and at her sister in a threatening manner. She then ran and locked herself in a bathroom. The monk said Nguyen had a history of mental problems and domestic violence, police reports stated. It was not clear why she was staying at the temple. Nguyen was transported to Gwinnett Medical Center for psychiatric evaluation. -From staff reportsMore like this story
