DACULA - After 27 years, Hebron Baptist Church's senior pastor, the Rev. Larry Wynn, is stepping down to accept a position with the Georgia Baptist Convention. Wynn, who has been senior pastor of the Dacula church since 1978, will be the vice president of evangelism for the organization, which is located in Atlanta. He'll make the transition sometime around the end of October, he said. "One part of me is very excited because this is a passion I have," Wynn said of the new position. But at the same time, he said, he'll miss leading his congregation. "We're not just a church," he said. "We're a family." Wynn shared the news with his congregation in a message Sunday night, he said. In his new role, Wynn will help churches in Georgia develop ways to become community oriented and "to share a positive message of hope with the people in those communities," he said.More like this story
