"Just" People Inc., a privately funded nonprofit agency that provides services to the mentally challenged, will host its second annual charity golf tournament at the Indian Hills Country Club in Marietta on Nov. 20 and 21.
Prizes will include a $1,000,000 Hole-In-One Shootout, cash prizes for closest to the hole, team draws, trophies and other prizes. "Just" People will use the proceeds to continue to expand its day programs and residential services to the challenged members of the community.
"Just" People's day program, which is headquartered at its Norcross campus, serves 52 clients. The residential program has facilities in Duluth and an apartment complex, which serves more than 130 clients, located on Marietta-Roswell Highway in Roswell.
"Just" People was founded in 1995 by Rebecca Dowling with a philosophy that even the challenged members of society are just people who should be afforded an opportunity to participate in the wealth of opportunities offered by metro Atlanta.
The "Just" People program also operates a thrift store, "Just" Stuff; a moving company, "Just" Movers; a moving supply company, "Just" Boxes; and a trash removal firm, "Just" Trash. Each of the companies employs "Just" People clients, and profits from these enterprises are used to support "Just" People.
"Just" People is a nonprofit charity, and all donations are tax deductible. For more information on how you can participate in this event, call Kevin Dowling at 770-480-7509.
