Snellville Fall Festival packed with games, fun, music

At this year's Snellville Fall Festival, expect even more attractions to help make the event fun for the whole family.

"Every year we try something new to make the festival better," City of Snellville Parks and Recreation Director Cyndee Bonacci said.

Saturday's festival, which will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at T.W. Briscoe Park, will offer more moonwalks and inflatable mazes as well as pony rides. In addition to these new features, festival-goers can enjoy carnival games, hayrides and the always-popular costume contest.

Children from birth to 13 years old can compete for "best costume" in their age groups, and prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place in each age division.

"The costume contest is always a big deal for the kids. They love it," Bonacci said.

The festival will also feature a tap-ballet performance by 3- to 6-year-old children from Creative Movement and Dance.

The Snellville Lions Club will sell concessions such as hot dogs, hamburgers and funnel cakes. A DJ will play music during the festival and emcee the costume contest.

But don't look for exhibitors at the festival; this event is more about games, fun and entertainment.

"A lot of people think that we offer craft and vendor booths at the fall festival, but we don't," Bonacci said. "We only offer those at Snellville Days in May. We're thinking of changing the name next year to 'Fall Carnival' for that reason."

Tickets for games and attractions will be 25 cents each.
