LAWRENCEVILLE - Saturday's third annual County Seat Day will bring food, games, entertainment and more to Lawrenceville's Historic Downtown Square.
The celebration, designed to gather neighbors in a fun atmosphere, will feature exhibitors, arts, crafts and music, including contemporary Irish music, bluegrass, bagpipes, Motown, swing and beach rock. The University of Georgia's Tropical Breeze Steel Band will also play, and the County Seat Players theater group will perform at the gazebo on the courthouse lawn.
The old courthouse, which houses the Gwinnett Historical Society, will be open to the public all day. Local government leaders will also be on hand to talk to residents.
The festival will be a haven for children, who can spend all day at Kids Fest enjoying a range of games and activities. Bigger kids can check out the motorcycle display and Gwinnett Fire Services' truck/engine display from local Lawrenceville Station No. 15. County Seat Day is presented by Lawrenceville Tourism and Trade Association.
