NORCROSS - About 50 residents of an apartment building were evacuated Saturday morning when a kitchen fire filled a hallway with smoke. The fire, at the Landings Apartments at 6420 Crestline Terrace, was started in an apartment kitchen, Gwinnett County Fire Department spokesman Craig Stanley said. The fire was contained to the kitchen, he said, but smoke filled the apartment hallway. The 10-unit apartment building was evacuated shortly after midnight, he said. Three residents were treated and released at the scene for smoke inhalation, Stanley said. Others thought that they were trapped inside their apartments when they saw smoke outside their doors. The fire was ruled accidental, Stanley said.More like this story
