Fire closes Buford Drive
BUFORD - A fire in a camper near the Mall of Georgia on Friday caused firefighters to shut down all lanes of Buford Drive for about 45 minutes.
The 24-foot camper was engulfed in flames when crews arrived at 3:30 p.m., according to Thomas Rutledge, spokesman for the Gwinnett County Fire Department. Man attacked by former co-worker
SNELLVILLE - A Snellville man said he was attacked Wednesday by a former co-worker wielding a knife outside his residence at Amli Apartments on Country Walk.
The victim told police he had recently accused the suspect of stealing from his car and work truck. The suspect showed up at the victim's apartment at 3:20 p.m., angry about the accusation, according to a police report. The man pulled out a pocket knife and attempted to stab the victim.
The victim received only a small cut on his abdomen. No charges had been filed in the case at the time the report was written, but the investigation was active.
Robber hits Papa John's
NORCROSS - An unidentified man on Wednesday robbed the Papa John's Pizza restaurant at 2066 Beaver Ruin Road.
The robber approached the manager at the counter at 9:15 p.m. to order wings, according to a police report. He then pulled out a pistol from his waistband and said "Give me all your money."
The manager handed over cash, which the robber stuffed into his waistband before fleeing the restaurant on foot.
