DULUTH - The Mrs. Winners restaurant at 2180 Pleasant Hill Road was robbed Friday by an unidentified man.

The suspect entered the store about 7:45 p.m. and placed an order. Suddenly, he jumped over the counter, brandished a gun and forced an employee to walk with him to the drive-through register to open it. When the employee asked the suspect if he wanted the coins in the register, he slapped her on the back of the head, according to a police report.

The robber also stole money from a second register and took two employees' purses. He reportedly forced all the employees into an office before fleeing the restaurant.

The robber was described as a black man, about 6 feet 2 inches tall and 220 pounds.

Man charged with criminal trespass

LAWRENCEVILLE - A Norcross man was arrested Sunday after he claimed he mistakenly broke into a house on Paces Landing Drive.

A 34-year-old female resident called 911 at 3:30 a.m. to report a shirtless Hispanic man was knocking at her door, trying to get in. The woman told the stranger to go away, but he broke a window and crawled inside.

An officer who arrived a short time later was met at the door by the resident, who was wearing a nightgown and carrying a shotgun, a police report said. She directed the officer to where Miguel Angel Soto De Leon, of unknown age, was lying face down in an office.

When questioned about the intrusion, De Leon told the officer that he was trying to see a friend who lived in the house. De Leon reportedly admitted to drinking alcoholic beverages and using "a little cocaine" earlier that evening. He was arrested on a criminal trespass charge.
