Authorities name murder suspect

LAWRENCEVILLE - Gwinnett police are searching for a murder suspect wanted in connection with a Sept. 22 shooting at a Lawrenceville-area apartment complex.

Homicide investigators have obtained arrest warrants for 24-year-old Tierraus Vandell Colquitt. He is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 135 pounds. He is possibly armed and should be considered dangerous, Gwinnett police said.

Colquitt is wanted in connection with the shooting of Brandon Fowler, 22, who was killed at the Wesley Place apartments at 3250 Sweetwater Road. Anyone with general information on Colquitt's whereabouts is encouraged to call the police department at 770-513-5100.

Armed men rob convenience store

BUFORD - Two masked men robbed the Shell Food Mart on Tuesday at 1155 Buford Highway.

The store clerk stated two unidentified black men wearing all black clothing and black cloths over their faces walked into the store at 10:25 p.m., according to a police report. The men pointed a gun at the clerk, and one of them walked behind the counter to dump the contents of the cash drawer onto the floor.

One gunman picked up the money while the other wandered around the store. The suspects also stole a pack of scratch-off lottery tickets before fleeing on foot.

Buford woman strikes back at irate motorist

BUFORD - An angry motorist screamed racial epithets at a Buford woman and damaged her car on Tuesday because she was driving too slow at the Mall of Georgia, according to police reports.

The woman told police a white male in a black pickup truck with a rebel flag in the rear window yelled, "Why are you driving so slow, you black b----? Get that dust bucket out of the way."

He also directed a racial slur toward the woman. The man then got out of the car, approached her and slapped the hat off her head.

The victim exited her car and "beat the male to the ground," according to police reports. When she walked off to call police, the suspect broke the woman's car door by bending it back too far and then stole her car keys.

The man left before police arrived.
