Phillips Byrd “Phil” Brogdon, Sr., age 70 of Buford, GA died Thursday, November 24, 2005 after an extended illness. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, November 27, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Rev. Danny Newbern and Mr. Rastus Franklin will officiate. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens. The Family will receive friends Saturday, November 26, 2005 from 2-9 P.M. at the funeral home. Mr. Brogdon was preceded in death by his Mother, Winnie Sue Griffin and Grandparents, Homer J. and Callie F. Phillips. Surviving are: Wife, Virginia F. Brogdon, Buford. Daughters and Sons-in-law, Lisa B. and Michael W. Appling, Buford, Fran B. and Darron Masters, Auburn. Sons, Phillps B. Brogdon, Jr., Buford, Vincent C. Brogdon, Buford. Grandchildren, Phillips B. Brogdon, III, Callie M. Appling, Augustus Appling, Cammie Appling, Hannah Brogdon, Heather Brogdon and Wesley Masters. Aunts, Martha P. Gallman, Oxford, AL and Eleanor Brogdon, Buford. Special Cousin, Marion E. Fowler, Decatur. Mr. Brogdon was a lifelong resident of Buford, a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, Buford. He was an engineer and designed automatic sprinkler systems. He was the former owner of Hamilton Mill Chevron and a lifelong cattle farmer. Phil was loved very much by his children and will be greatly missed.
