ART Station presents 'A Broadway Christmas Carol'

If you've ever thought that "A Christmas Carol" needs to be jazzed up, don't miss the ART Station Theatre's holiday show this year. The Stone Mountain theater's production of "A Broadway Christmas Carol" will open Wednesday and continue through Dec. 23.

The show combines the tale of Ebenezer Scrooge with parodies of Broadway show tunes. Three actors present the entire show. David Silverman stars as Scrooge. The cast also includes Bethany Irby and Geoff "Googie" Uterhardt. Patrick Hutchinson plays the piano for the production, which is directed by David Thomas.

"A Broadway Christmas Carol" will be performed at 8 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and at 3 p.m. Sunday. ART Station is located at 5384 Manor Drive in Stone Mountain Village. Tickets for the show are $25 for adults and $19 for senior citizens and students.

'Sanders Family

Christmas'

Theatre Gwinnett will perform "Sanders Family Christmas" at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Dec. 2 and at 2 and 7 p.m. Dec. 3. The show will be presented at Lawrenceville First Christian Church, 3495 Sugarloaf Parkway in Lawrenceville.

The show, set in 1941, tells the story of the singing Sanders family as they return to North Carolina at Christmas. The show includes more than two dozen Christmas songs.

Shakespeare Tavern fundraising event

The New American Shakespeare Tavern is known for its period Shakespeare performances. Now, the theater is working to add an Elizabethan-era facade to its building on Peachtree Street in downtown Atlanta.

"Il Limite del Cielo: An Italian Evening," an event to raise funds for the theater company's facade, will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 2. The event will take place at The Atrium at Emory Crawford Long Hospital at 550 Peachtree St. in Atlanta. The evening will feature wine, entertainment and a silent auction. The auction will include lunch with a Shakespeare Tavern actor and a walk-on part in the theater's February production of "Romeo and Juliet."
