Evacuee charged with pimping
•NORCROSS - A New Orleans evacuee was arrested on a pimping charge earlier this month at Extended Stay America motel at 6295 Jimmy Carter Blvd., according to a police report.
Two undercover investigators were stopped at a red light on Best Friend Road and Jimmy Carter Boulevard at 10:10 p.m. Nov. 7 when Adam Andrew III approached and asked them for a ride. The officers asked if he knew where they could get a girl (prostitute), the report stated.
Andrew allegedly replied he had a beautiful girl back at the motel room, and he led officers to meet with 32-year-old Tammy Latrell Carter of Commerce. Carter offered to have sex with the officers for $30 each, the report said.
The officers charged Carter with prostitution and possession of crack cocaine. Andrew ran away, but officers took out warrants for his arrest on charges of pimping, obstruction of law enforcement and possession of crack cocaine.
Woman charged with assault
•NORCROSS - A 31-year-old Lawrenceville woman allegedly attacked her boyfriend with a knife Saturday after learning he had another woman in his apartment, according to a police report.
Josephine Ali telephoned police and told responding officers she had gone to her old apartment where her boyfriend was staying to retrieve some belongings.
Once inside, she reportedly accused him of having another woman there. The boyfriend admitted to police that another woman was in the apartment, and she had gone to hide in the closet.
During the argument, Ali allegedly went to the kitchen, grabbed a knife and started struggling with her boyfriend. He received a cut to his hand while holding it up to defend himself.
Ali claimed her boyfriend had attacked her with a knife, but the officer noted she had no wounds. She was charged with aggravated assault.
