Crews - Shafer

Diane Lynne Crews and Thomas H. Shafer Jr. were married on Oct. 3 in Big Sur, Calif. The Rev. Brian Lykes officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles G. Crews of Grovetown. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alvin M. Crews Sr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charlie A. Hembree of Acworth. She is a graduate of Evans High School and Augusta State University. She is employed by Barry Real Estate Companies in Atlanta as a property accountant.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas H. Shafer Sr. of Lilburn. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Cotter and the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry H. Shafer, all of Lilburn. He is a graduate of Bob Jones University and Georgia State University School of Law. He is self-employed as an attorney in Atlanta.

After a honeymoon in California, the couple now resides in Atlanta.

Squires - Dean

Monica Rene Squires and Jason Matthew Dean, both of Atlanta, were married on Aug. 20 at Peachtree Christian Church. Dr. James L. Collins officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of John and Janie Squires of Lawrenceville. She earned a bachelor's degree in health science and is employed by the American Cancer Society.

The groom is the son of Paul and Sandra Dean of Milledgeville. He earned a bachelor's degree in computer information systems. He is employed with McKesson and is a co-owner of a Zaxby's restaurant in Chattanooga, Tenn.

Jori Meier of Athens served as the bride's maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Brandy Aaron of Watkinsville, Jill Hardy of Atlanta, Jodi Barnes of West Bloomfield, Mich., Kylie Ray of Perry, Amanda Ethridge of Macon and Mia Dean of Alpharetta.

Bryan Dean of Denver served as the groom's best man.

Groomsmen were Jon Dean of Alpharetta, Jon Perry of Atlanta, John Yarbrough of Braselton, Taber Roberts of Atlanta, Tommy Qualters of Atlanta and Sean McCue of Atlanta.

After a honeymoon trip to Cancun, Mexico, the couple now resides in Atlanta.

Rhyne - Lightsey

Leah Paige Rhyne and Brian Patrick Lightsey were married Nov. 5 at Shandon Baptist Church in Columbia, S.C. The Rev. Dr. John R. Lincoln officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Paula B. Rhyne of Lancaster, S.C., and Charles William "Bill" Rhyne of Columbia, S.C. She is a graduate of Winthrop University, where she received her bachelor's degree in special education. She is an early interventionist with Bright Start in Columbia, S.C.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James L. Lightsey of Flowery Branch. He is a graduate of the Citadel, where he received his bachelor's degree in political science. He is a first lieutenant with the United States Air Force and is stationed at Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter, S.C.

Loren B. Rhyne of Denver served as the bride's maid of honor and Kelly M. Thurmond of Elgin, S.C., was the bride's matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Gail Lightsey of Buford; Shannon Griffith of Greenville, S.C.; Kellie Bates of West Columbia, S.C.; and Michelle Shield of Columbia, S.C.

James L. Lightsey of Flowery Branch served as the groom's best man.

Groomsmen were Jason Griffith of Greenville, S.C.; Eric Lee of Columbia, S.C.; Rob Kiser of Little Rock, Ark.; Casey McMillan of Columbia, S.C.; and Craig DuBose of Manning, S.C.

After their honeymoon, the couple now resides in Lugoff, S.C.
