Auburn Fest to feature train ride, music, crafts

AUBURN - Paraders will stroll the city streets, vendors will line the area and bands will play throughout the day as Auburn celebrates fall with Auburn Fest on Saturday.

Council Liaison Stephanie Glander said the event has been going on for four years.

"It really helps get the community out instead of sitting in their houses all day," she said.

The festival begins with a parade at 9 a.m. and continues until 9 p.m. Highlights include band performances, face painting, train rides and arts and craft vendors along 4th Avenue.

Glander said she hopes the Auburn Fest helps residents become more interested in the city. She expected between 300 and 400 people to attend the free event.

"People just like the festival, they like to get out in the fresh air and see the arts and crafts," she said. "I hope it helps the community grow."
