LILBURN - The Wesleyan Wolves won their first game of the year against Towers Wednesday night in the Loop/Lee Sports Holiday Classic at Parkview 65-45. The Wolves were led by senior guard Carloyn Whitney who had 17 points and seven assists. The Wolves held Towers to only eight first quarter points. Senior guard Le Le LeSeur also added 14 points in the 20 point victory.
GIRLS BASKETBALL Central 61, Peachtree Ridge 42 SNELLVILLE - Central beat Peachtree Ridge 61-42 on Wednesday night in the Dacula/Shiloh Shootout. Central was led by Dria David who scored 14 points on the night. Central got plenty of help from all of the team in which eight other girls scored on the night to help Central build an 11 point third quarter lead. Central was also led by guard Amber Kirkpatrick who scored 14. Peachtree Ridge was led by junior guard Rhea Taylor who had 14 points. BOYS BASKETBALL Peacthree Ridge 67, Central 51 SNELLVILLE - Zach Graham scored 32 points Wednesday night to lead Peachtree Ridge to a 67-51 win over Central Gwinnett in the Shiloh/Dacula Shootout at Shiloh High School. Cameron Heyward added 13 points for Peachtree Ridge (1-0) while Bassey Inameti had a solid game with eight points and six blocks. - Compiled by Haaris Quraishy To report scores, call 770-339-5850.
