David (Dave) John Nieminen of Lawrenceville, GA went to be with the Lord early Saturday morning, November 12, 2005, at Haven House Hospice in Atlanta after a courageous battle with a brain tumor. He was born June 9, 1949 in Wakefield, MI, graduating from Stambaugh High School in Stambaugh, Mich. and Michigan Tech University. Dave received Jesus as his Lord and Savior in 1983, and was an active member of First Baptist Church of Snellville, GA. He had a passionate love for his Lord, his family and his friends. Dave's greatest earthly treasure is the loving family he leaves behind. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Gay Lynn Nieminen of Lawrenceville; son, Jesse Nieminen and wife, Zoe of Atlanta; and son, Jeremy Nieminen of Atlanta. He is also survived by his mother, Lila Nieminen of Iron River, Mich.; brother, John Nieminen and wife, Anne of Iron River, Mich., and Richard Nieminen and wife, Debbie of Iron River, Mich. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl John Nieminen. There will be a celebration of Dave's life at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 19, at Wages and Sons Gwinnett Chapel in Lawrenceville, officiated by his father-in-law, Dr. Howard H. Ramsey and Dr. Russ Shinpoch, pastor of First Baptist Church Snellville. The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. preceding the celebration service.
