DEAR AMY: I am raising a 4-year-old family member who suffered neglect and abandonment in her birth family. She is relearning how to trust and bond with the stable adult in her life - me. My problem is that well-meaning friends at church and such are warm and effusive with her in a way that does not feel safe or authentic to her.

Buford boys blank Grady 2-0

ATLANTA - Buford advanced in the Class AA/A boys state tournament with a 2-0 win over Grady on Wednesday. Misael Martinez scored a goal on a penalty kick for the Wolves (12-6), and Patrick McGlon netted the other goal for Buford with the assist going to Edgar Arroyo. Wilfred Chavez earned the shutout in goal for the Wolves, and the entire defense played an excellent match.
