Mr. Mason Eugene (Gene) Ford, age 79 of Snellville, GA died Thursday, May 12, 2005. Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 15, at 2pm at Wages Snellville Chapel with Dr. Bo Prosser, his son-in-law officiating. Burial will follow at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5 until 8pm at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife of 59 years: Lois Simmons Ford; daughter and son-in-law: Gail and Bo Prosser of Tucker, GA; son and daughter-in-law: Mark and Judy Ford of Rex, GA; daughter and son-in-law: Maria and Donald Haynes of Snellville, GA; grandchildren: Jamie Prosser, Katie Prosser, Rachel Haynes and Brad Haynes; brothers and sister-in-law: Charles and Barbara Ford of Snellville; Bennie and Carol Ford of Loganville; Ronald and Geraldine Ford of Lawrenceville; sister: Mary Alice Ricks of Lawrenceville; sister-in-law: Jessie Ford of Snellville; many nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father: Artis Ford; mother: Daisy Ford and Brother: Garland Ford. Mr. Ford was retired from 30 years in his automobile business, East Stone Mountain Used Cars, Snellville, GA. He spent about 30 years volunteering at South Gwinnett Athletic Association with Dixie Boys Baseball which he really enjoyed. He was a World War II Army Veteran, captured by Germans in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, Greater Atlanta Chapter American Ex-Prisoners of War, Snellville VFW Post 4180, American Legion Post 0232 and a lifetime member of Dixie boys Baseball.
