Lawrenceville gas leak shuts down Ga. 20
LAWRENCEVILLE - A 4-inch gas line sprung a leak after being struck by a construction crew Thursday near the Kroger Shopping Center at 455 Grayson Highway.
Firefighters and Lawrenceville police shut down Ga. Highway 20 (Grayson Highway) between Simonton Road and Gwinnett Drive for about two hours beginning at 11:30 a.m. They also evacuated a restaurant, a dry cleaning business and a bank, said Thomas Rutledge, spokesman for Gwinnett County Fire Department.
Woman claims man harassing her to force her out of business
DULUTH - A Duluth restaurant owner said she is being harassed by a man trying to force her out of business, according to police reports.
The owner of Damoa Karaoke on 3530 Mall Blvd. told police a man known as John has been coming into the bar giving her a hard time because he did not want her to stay in business. On Sunday, the man started pulling her hair and then hitting her in the back and neck. The woman was able to bite his arm to get him to stop, but when she tried to call 911 on her cell phone he ripped it from her hands and broke it in two pieces, according to reports. The victim was suffering pain in her neck, back and arms a day after the assault, police reports said.
Man charged with disorderly conduct
LAWRENCEVILLE - A Lawrenceville man was accused of exposing himself to a leasing agent at Sweetwater Glen Apartments on Club Drive and arrested Monday.
The victim told police that Ernest James Brim Jr., 27, first exposed himself to her May 6 when he came into the office to get information about leasing an apartment. Brim then returned Monday and walked into the office with his zipper down, the leasing agent claimed. When she told him to zip up, Brim reportedly complied. However, Brim then followed the leasing agent into a back office and unzipped his pants to expose himself a third time. Brim was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct.
Four men charged with pandering
LILBURN - Police on Wednesday arrested four men who allegedly tried to solicit sex from an undercover officer at Villager Lodge on Brookhollow Parkway.
An officer posed as a prostitute between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. and encountered several men who offered money in exchange for a sex act, according to arrest warrants. Arrested and charged with pandering were 22-year-old Pedro Cruz-Nube of Lilburn, 26-year-old Armando Pelico-Paxtor of Norcross, 35-year-old Vinh Quang Le of Norcross and 48-year-old Ernesto Ventura of Suwanee.
