SNELLVILLE - Cody Simpson pitched a complete game, giving up only one hit and striking out three batters as Shiloh beat Berkmar 2-0 on Wednesday. Antonio Callaway was 2-for-4 for the Generals (7-18, 5-8), Kellan Chrisman had a solo home run in two at-bats and Mikey Mixon added a hit for Shiloh.

Parkview 13, Central 1

LAWENCEVILLE - Nathan Moreau struck out eight batters in a complete-game effort as Parkview defeated Central Gwinnett 13-1 on Wednesday. Scott Steele was 3-for-4 with three RBIs, Gator Parker had a two-run home run and three RBIs for the Panthers (20-5, 13-0), Leo White had three hits and Steve Esmonde finished with two hits and two RBIs.

Duluth 3, Northview 1

DULUTH - Andrew Martin was 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and Ross Book added a single and a double in three at-bats as Duluth downed Northview 3-1 on Wednesday. Matt Dugan pitched the sixth inning, earning the win for the Wildcats (16-8, 4-5), with Garrett Lussi pitching the seventh inning, securing the save for Duluth.

Meadowcreek 0

NORCROSS - Anders Oster had three hits and Tim Lorek, Clayton Cain and Chris Murray all added two hits as Brookwood defeated Meadowcreek 15-0 on Wednesday. Ryan Bode gave up three hits in three innings to earn the win for the Broncos (13-10, 8-5).

Buford 14, Banks Co. 2

HOMER - Buford scored 10 runs in the sixth inning and defeated Banks County 14-2 on Wednesday, keeping a slim hold of the top spot in Region 8-AA.

R.M. Cozza gave up two hits and struck out eight batters, earning the win for the Wolves (20-3, 15-2). Matt Hahn had two hits and two RBIs, John Higginbotham was 1-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs, and Drew Camp and Chase Burnette both added hits for Buford.

Providence 11,

Rabun Co. 1

TIGER - Collin McHugh was 2-for-3 with a double, a three-run home run and five RBIs as Providence defeated Rabun County 11-1 on Wednesday. Ryan Woods was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and Chris Waites added three hits, including two doubles and two RBIs for the Stars (20-5, 14-4). Ben Jackson pitched four innings, striking out five batters, in earning the win for Providence.

Commerce 18, Hebron 11

DACULA - Kevin Roberts was 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs but Hebron was defeated by Commerce 18-11 on Wednesday. Brent Cooper went 2-for-3 with three RBIs, Tyler Hardin had two hits and an RBI and Lee Peacock finished with a hit and two RBIs for the Lions.

GAC 1 Lumpkin Co. 0

NORCROSS - David Shida drove in pinch-runner Chase Curth in the bottom of the seventh inning as Greater Atlanta Christian edged Lumpkin County 1-0 on Wednesday to clinch a playoof berth.

Landon Bennett pitched a complete game, striking out seven batters to earn the win for the Spartans (14-10, 11-6).


GAC 3, Lovett 1

NORCROSS - Greater Atlanta Christian advanced in the Class AA state tournament, beating Lovett 3-1 in a second-round match on Wednesday.

The Spartans (18-4) got their wins from Chelsea Sanders at No. 2 singles, Abby Rising at No. 3 singles and from the No. 2 doubles team of Grayson Meyer and Caroline Greenwood.
